Remembrance Day is a memorial day that occurs on November 11 every year. On Remembrance Day, we are meant to remember those who serve and those who have served our country during times of war.
At 11 am on Remembrance Day there is a moment of silence that lasts two minutes. During this traditional moment of silence, people are encouraged to take a moment to remember and honour those who serve, and have served, on behalf of our country. Kingsway will show respect by turning off mall music for those who wish to participate in this moment of silence.
Why do we wear poppies for Remembrance Day?
Poppies are traditionally worn for Remembrance Day because these are the flowers which grew on the battlefields after World War I ended. If you are interested in wearing a poppy for Remembrance Day, they will be available for purchase from the Legion Poppy Fund until 5 pm on November 10th. They will be located on the main level in front of Entrance 1.
Hours of Operation
Kingsway Mall will be open 12 pm to 9 pm on Remembrance Day.
