Halloween 2020 Update

Halloween is an exciting annual event for Kingsway, and over the past several years a growing number of families have been choosing to visit Kingsway to show off their costumes, take photos with costumed visitors at our Halloween displays, and of course go trick-or-treating at candy stations and stores. It is a highlight of the calendar year for Kingsway, and a day where we are able to connect with and give back to the community that we are part of.

However, after careful discussion and review of the recently-released Alberta Health Guidelines for Halloween during Covid-19, and to encourage safe practices in our communities for Halloween, Kingsway, in alignment with other centres in Edmonton will not be participating in traditional trick-or-treating this year. In hopes of promoting safe, physically distanced outdoor trick-or-treating as suggested by Alberta Health, Kingsway will not be setting up indoor candy stations and has asked retailers to refrain from handing out candy.

But of course our Halloween spirit will live on! Visit our recent blog post for tips on how to have a spooktacular Halloween at home.
